The 2019 annual Light Switch On will take place on Thursday 28th November 6.30pm – 7.30pm on Centre Square and hosted by BBC Tees presenter Gary Philipson will feature some very special Middlesbrough Football Club guests, spectacular Spark Drummers, local band The Gimmie Gimmicks plus a pop up Orange Pip market and traditional fairground rides!
And don’t forget, new for 2019 and a first for the North East – Walking with The Snowman is heading to Middlesbrough from 2nd November to 4th January! The trail will weave around Middlesbrough centre and feature twelve incredible sculptures in a tribute to Raymond Briggs’ magical classic, The Snowman™. Each Snowman has been individually decorated by a professional artist, inspired by the theme of the 12 Days of Christmas!
The ever popular Reindeer parade will take to the streets on Sunday 1st December, starting at Campus Heart, Teesside University 12 community groups along with Newham Granges Daisy and Dan will lead the route ending on Centre Square where there will be fairground rides and Orange Pip market stalls.
Don’t forget to book a visit with Santa himself in our charming and bespoke grotto in Captain Cooks Square on 7th & 8th and 14th & 15th December tell him your Christmas wishes and receive a mini gift to take home!
And last but not least Newham Grange Farm is having a Christmassy makeover from 7th to 31st December where twinkly illuminations switched on by Daisy and Dan at a special event on Dec 7th will lead to a stunning pop-up animal village featuring some brand new farm characters. The village will feature a Christmas scene, a snow blanket and of course, the farm’s mascots will be hiding somewhere!
